A grammar-based game

Preparation

Make 2 homemade die for every 3-4 students in the class.

Grammar Points

This game encourages students to recognise vocabulary and verbs and link an action to those words. On one homemade die put six subject pronouns. Put 6 verbs on the other.

Method

1. Divide the class into groups of 3 or 4 students. Give each group two die.
2. Students throw one die and then the other and have to conjugate the verb in the requested tense accordingly.
3. Following a discussion, one of the students in the group writes down the correct verb form.
4. At the end of the time allowed (5 minutes), the group of students with the most correct verbs win.
5. The teacher can conjugate the 6 verbs fully in the required tense after the game.
6. This game can be used when any new tense has been learned.
